Equatorial Guinea confirms first-ever Marburg virus disease outbreak, triggering global caution. — WHO Africa
HANOI (Vietnam News/Asia News Network): The Ministry of Health has asked the People's Committees of cities and provinces nationwide, the Pasteur Institutes and hygiene and epidemiology institutes to strengthen prevention and control of the Marburg virus disease.
The Marburg virus causes an acute infectious disease, which naturally resides in fruit-eating bats (Rousettus aegyptiacus). To date, there have been no reported cases in Vietnam.
