BANGKOK (The Nation/Asia News Network): The Thai economy will expand 3.9% this year due to a faster-than-expected recovery in the tourism sector, rising private consumption, and a stronger-than-expected global economy, the research unit of Siam Commercial Bank said on Friday (March 17).
The bank’s Economic Intelligence Centre (EIC) raised its growth forecast for the Thai economy by half a percentage point from its 3.4% forecast in November.
