Myanmar exports over 543,606 tonnes of green grammes in nearly 11 months


YANGON, March 12 (Xinhua): Myanmar exported more than 543,606 tonnes of green grammes in nearly 11 months of the 2022-23 fiscal year beginning in April last year, the country's Ministry of Commerce have confirmed.

From April 1 last year to February 24 this year, the country earned over US$389.69 million from the exports of green grams, the ministry's figures showed.

The South-East Asian country exports green grams to China, India and a number of European countries.

The country's total exports of beans and pulses including green grams during the period of nearly 11 months reached over 1.6 million tons, official data showed.

Beans and pulses are Myanmar's second-most cultivated crops after rice, accounting for 33 percent of the country's total agricultural production. - Xinhua
