Chinese parliamentarians want for young Taiwanese to take part in mainland politics ‘to boost understanding of socialist system’

Deputies from the Taiwanese delegation to China’s national legislature have suggested the young people from the island should be allowed to participate in mainland politics to improve their understanding of its governance.

Li Xingkui, a member of the delegation – who are all based in the mainland but of Taiwanese descent – said participation by Taiwanese youth in the mainland’s “political life” would be an “effective” way to promote understanding and recognition.
