SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): Seventeen more wild pigs infected with African swine fever (ASF) have been recorded in Singapore, with the deadly pig virus reported in new locations including forested areas in the west and on Pulau Ubin.

The disease, caused by the virus of the same name, affects only wild boars and pigs. It is not zoonotic, meaning it does not infect humans.
