Tokopedia launches three new features for easier shopping experience


JAKARTA (The Jakarta Post/Asia News Network): For some, there is nothing that can beat the feeling they get when they purchase a much-wanted item at the till. In this day and age, that satisfaction can also happen when clicking the checkout button.

Whether it is the latest smartphone launch, the hottest bag from the runway or even your daily groceries, e-commerce platforms will usually have what you want just a simple search away, as convenience is the name of the game in the increasingly online era.

From free shipping to cashback vouchers, Indonesian e-commerce platforms are increasingly becoming the platform of choice to shop, as clicking “checkout” can be done anywhere and anytime.

For instance, Tokopedia’s latest Share Address feature, newly launched this year, allows users to share their shipping address to friends and family for times like Lebaran, Christmas or birthdays when they usually send out parcels and gifts.

At the same time, this feature might be one way to drop subtle hints if you’d like some things ticked off your wish list.

According to Tokopedia Vice President of Logistics, Edwin Mailoa, users can ask their friends and family to send them their addresses, while also sharing their address to other Tokopedia users

Like its name implies, the Share Address feature allows users to share their addresses by clicking the share icon from the Daftar Alamat (Address List) page, where they can send the details to their acquaintances’ saved phone number or email address.

Likewise, they can receive and save shared addresses from the notifications page.

Another new feature from Tokopedia is the Wishlist Categorisation, which allows users to better categorise their most-wanted items. Whereas the old function merely allowed users to save the items in one huge list, the revamped feature makes it easier to separate products in different categories.

For example, prioritised household essentials can have its own list, separate from your self-reward list that you’ll add and check out from time to time.

To make use of the Wishlist Categorisation feature, simply visit the wish list page and start creating the different categories. After that, users can visit individual item pages and include them in the appropriate wish list category.

For savvy shoppers who like to compare and contrast before sealing the deal, the Katalog Tokopedia feature allows you to compare two different products in a single page, with the addition of similar item recommendations for added reference.

The feature can be accessed by entering “Katalog Tokopedia” in the Tokopedia search bar, which allows you to readily compare any products, from consumer electronics to even brand-new cars from the dealership.
