Vietnam requests aid from Japan for mega railway and refinery projects

HANOI, Jan 14 (Reuters): Vietnam has asked Japan for support in building a high-speed railway that runs along the country's length, the government said late on Friday (Jan 13).

The proposal was made at a meeting between Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Japanese Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki in Hanoi earlier in the day, the government said in a statement.
