Lightning strikes killed 63 in Cambodia last year, down 24 per cent

PHNOM PENH (Xinhua): Lightning strikes had claimed 63 lives in Cambodia in 2022, down 24 per cent from 83 deaths in a year earlier, a disaster control spokesman said on Thursday (Jan 12).

Besides the fatalities, thunderbolts injured 58 others last year, said Soth Kim Kolmony, the spokesman for the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM).
