Myanmar earns over US$2.2 billion from agriculture exports in nearly eight months


YANGON, Dec. 6 (Xinhua): Myanmar earned over US$2.28 billion from the exportation of agricultural products within nearly eight months of the current financial year 2022-2023 beginning in April, according to the ministry of commerce.

All the agricultural export from April 1 to Nov. 25 this year was done by the private sector alone and made US$2.28 billion.

The earnings increased over US$46 million from the same period last year, the commerce ministry's figures showed.

The country's total export value during the above-mentioned period also grew over US$1.7 billion, official data showed.

The total export of the country includes agricultural products, animal products, marine products, minerals, forest products, manufacturing goods and others.

Most of the country's exports are agricultural products and manufacturing goods.

The Southeast Asian country exports its goods to foreign countries including China, Thailand, Bangladesh and India. - Xinhua
