Strong winds destroy 11 fishing boats and a motorboat in Myanmar town


YANGON (Eleven Media News/Asia News Network): Strong winds in the evening of Nov 29 destroyed 11 fishing boats and a motorboat docked near Ywathit village, and Thaungkone village in Kungyankone Township according to Myittamon philanthropic association.

“We went there with 12 members and two cars. Some fishing boats were destroyed and floating in the water. Villagers and owners of the boats as well as our team had to seize the boats from the water,” said chairman of the association Ko Hla Tun Oo.

Majority of townships in Yangon Region experienced strong wind between 9pm to 9.30pm. Department of Metrology and Hydrology issued an announced that the strong wind was caused by rain cloud. It can cause in a short time and create strong winds, thunder and lightning.

Due to strong winds, power outage happened in some townships.
