BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Nov 10 (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) informed the public that the Fruit-tella brand Assorted Chewy Sweets sold in some supermarkets contain pork gelatin.

The finding was the result of an inspection by the Syariah Affairs Department through the Halal Food Control Division following public complaints. It was also confirmed based on information from the producer Perfetti Van Melle through the official website and also the company’s email.

The Syariah Affairs Department, MoRA ordered the supermarkets owners to isolate Perfetti Van Melle products immediately in the ‘Non Halal Section’ to safeguard the interests of the Muslim community in the Sultanate.
