Brunei records daily average of 307 Covid-19 cases in past week


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Oct. 10 (Xinhua): Brunei logged a daily average of 307 new Covid-19 cases in the past week compared to 268 cases per day the week before, the Health Ministry has announced.

According to the ministry's weekly briefing, 38,978 Antigen Rapid Test (ART) test results were uploaded to the government platform within one week, with 5.5 per cent of them being positive.

Currently, no hospitalised cases are held in intensive care unit and one case requires oxygen assistance, according to the ministry.

As of Oct. 9, 78.5 percent of Brunei's population have received three doses of Covid-19 vaccines, while 10.6 per cent have taken the fourth dose.

COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and China's Sinopharm are administered in the South-East Asian country. - Xinhua
