Singapore reports 1,528 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths on Sunday (Sept 18)


SINGAPORE, Sept. 18 (Xinhua): Singapore reported 1,528 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, bringing the total tally to 1,875,275.

Of the new cases, 154 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 1,374 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR cases, 145 were local transmissions and nine were imported cases.

Among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 1,270 local transmissions and 104 imported cases.

A total of 186 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with six cases in intensive care units.

No new deaths were reported from Covid-19 on Sunday, leaving the death toll unchanged at 1,607, the ministry said. - Xinhua
