Myanmar reports 189 new Covid-19 cases


YANGON (Xinhua): Myanmar confirmed 189 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 616,852, according to the Ministry of Health on Sunday (Sept 11).

The health ministry said in a statement that these cases included 16 infected people who returned from abroad.

It said that health authorities tested 9,378 people for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, and the daily positivity rate was 2.02 per cent.

The death toll from Covid-19 in the country remained unchanged at 19,442 as no new deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, the ministry said.

The total number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19 in the country reached 594,280, including 57 new recoveries on Sunday.
