Brunei continues streak without Covid-19 fatalities


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network): Brunei Darussalam on Tuesday (Aug 16) again saw no Covid-19 fatalities in the last 24 hours, while only two cases were placed in Category 4, requiring respiratory assistance and close monitoring and none in Category 5 requiring treatment at the intensive care unit.

The latest updates on the Covid-19 situation in the country was shared by the Ministry of Health in its daily report.

There were 446 recovered cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 215,085.

The inoculation rate for children aged five to 11 with two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine is 82 per cent, while 55.3 per cent of adolescents aged 12 to 17 have been administered the third dose.

The coverage rate of Brunei population with three shots of Covid-19 vaccine remained at 76.2 per cent, while 8.6 per cent of the populace have received the fourth dose.
