Cops seek man who stabbed own nephew

The North Sumatra police are looking for a 32-year-old man, identified only by the initial R, for stabbing his 10-year-old nephew at a school in Sunggal district, Deli Serdang.

Sunggal police chief Comr Candra Yudha said they were investigating the motive for the stabbing that happened on Tuesday morning.

The incident happened in a sixth-grade classroom at the Baiti Jannati Foundation elementary school.

Waluyo, who chairs the educational foundation, said the victim had just entered the classroom with his friends after the morning roll call when the incident occurred.

“The perpetrator came into the classroom and went directly to the victim’s desk. He stabbed (the victim) in the chest with a kitchen knife,” Waluyo said.

The uncle exited the school by climbing over an external fence. — The Jakarta Post/ANN
