‘Very high’ Covid-19 positivity rate in 15 Luzon provinces: OCTA


MANILA (Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network): “Very high” Covid-19 positivity rates were noted in 15 provinces in Luzon over the past week, OCTA Research fellow Guido David said on Monday (Aug 8).

David, in a tweet, said that as of Aug 6, 2022, positivity rates in the provinces of Albay, Benguet, Cagayan, Camarines Sur, Cavite, Isabela, La Union, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Quezon, Rizal, Tarlac, Zambales are deemed to be “very high”.

According to data shared by David, the highest recorded was in Camarines Sur at 48.7 percent followed by Isabela (47.6 percent), Tarlac (41.9 per cent), Nueva Ecija (38.4 per cent), Pampanga (35 per cent), and Laguna (33.2 per cent).

Cagayan registered a 30.5 percent positivity rate, followed by La Union (29.4 percent), Zambales (28.6 per cent), Albay (28.2 percent), Quezon (25.1 percent), Pangasinan (25 per cent), Benguet (22 per cent), Cavite (21.1 per cent) and Rizal (18.8 per cent)

Meanwhile, David also reported that the positivity rate in Metro Manila also increased from 15.5 per cent on August 30 to 17.5 per cent as of Aug 6.
