YANGON (Xinhua): Myanmar athletes who received training in China have achieved good results at the 31st South-East Asian Games (SEA Games) held in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi, according to the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar on Thursday (May 26).

Seventy-nine athletes in six sports including wushu, rowing, canoeing and boxing, who went to China for training under the 2021-2022 China-aided sports projects for Myanmar, have won one gold, four silvers and nine bronzes at the Games, the embassy said.

Three other athletes who trained in China in 2019 also took bronze medals in wushu competitions at the Games, it added.

After the projects concluded in March 2022, these athletes returned to Myanmar but continued receiving online training from the Chinese coaches in order to tune up for the SEA Games, the embassy said.
