HANOI (Vietnam News/Asia News Network): Vietnam registered 1,344 new Covid-19 infections, all domestically transmitted, and two deaths on Wednesday (May 25).
The capital Hanoi again led the number of new daily cases with 316, followed by Vĩnh Phúc Province with 94.
To date, the country has logged 10,712,733 Covid-19 infections, ranking 12th globally.
The health ministry also announced 2,459 recoveries, bringing the total to 9,414,862 while 194 Covid-19 patients are currently in serious condition, including two requiring mechanical ventilation and two on life support.
The two deaths were in Tây Ninh and Trà Vinh provinces, bringing the total fatalities in the country to 43,078, or 0.4 per cent of infections.
219,796,318 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered so far, with 198.56 million in the adult population, 17.4 million for those aged 12-17 years, and 3.79 million for children aged 5-11.
