Betong hotels, restaurants offer big discounts to kick-start stalled airport

BANGKOK (The Nation/Asia News Network): Betong tourism operators will offer discounts on hotel rooms and food when travellers show their boarding pass, in a bid to kickstart Thailand’s newest airport.

The move comes after Nok Air suspended services to Betong Airport last week, just two days after it opened, following low demand. Tourism operators reportedly want Nok Air to cut its ticket prices and restore Bangkok-Betong flights by April 1.
