JAKARTA (The Jakarta Post/Asia News Network): Four days before the House of Representatives passed the National Capital City bill into law on Jan 18, many in Jakarta felt the 6.6-Richter scale tremor.

The national meteorology agency (BMKG) says there have been at least a dozen more "milder" quakes rocking the neighbouring Banten province since then until President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo signed the new law on Feb 17.
