YANGON, March 4 (Xinhua): Myanmar allowed Thai baht or Myanmar kyat direct payment for trade at the Thai-Myanmar border, according to a statement issued by the Central Bank of Myanmar on Friday.

The statement said that the baht or kyat direct payment will be allowed at the Thai-Myanmar border to boost bilateral trade, to facilitate smooth flow of goods, to make easy access to cross-border payment between the two countries and to promote local currency in line with the objectives of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Financial Integration.
