Real-name registration for SIM cards to begin on March 1

HONG KONG (China Daily/Asia News Network): Hong Kong residents will need to complete real-name registration for their SIM cards starting from March 1, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government said on Monday (Feb 7).

In a statement, the government pointed out that the Telecommunications (Registration of SIM Cards) Regulation, which took effect on Sept 1, 2021, requires real-name registration for Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards.
