Indonesia sees only 1.56 million foreign tourist visits in 2021

JAKARTA (Xinhua): The number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia in 2021 reached about 1.56 million, a drastic drop of 61.57 per cent year on year, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) said.

The drop reflected the trend of change in the number of foreign tourists visiting the country during the Covid-19 pandemic and before it, BPS' head Margo Yuwono told a virtual press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (Feb 2).
