HONG KONG (China Daily/Asia News Network): The Hong Kong government announced that its social distancing measures will remain in place until Feb 17 after the city recorded 164 new Covid-19 infections on Thursday (Jan 27), the highest single-day figure over the past two years.
At a news briefing, Chief Executive Carrie Lam cited advice from the Centre for Health Protection and medical experts to explain how the government arrived at its decision, saying that the number of infections could increase exponentially at any moment under the current circumstances.
