Vietnam reports more than 15,700 new Covid-19 infections

HANOI (Vietnam News/Asia News Network): A total of 15,727 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Vietnam on Thursday (Jan 27), bringing the national tally to 2,203,208.

The new figure includes 55 imported transmissions. Hanoi still leads the country with 2,907 new infections.

The country recorded 126 Covid-related deaths on Thursday, bringing the total number of deaths to 37,291.

A total of 21,002 patients were announced to have made a full recovery, raising the total number of recoveries in Vietnam to 1,945,611.

166 cases of the Omicron variant have been detected in the country so far.

Vietnam has administered over 179.5 million doses of vaccine nationwide, including nearly 74 million second doses and over 26.6 million third doses.
