TOKYO (The Japan News/Asia News Network): The daily total of new Covid-19 infections set a new record in Japan on Wednesday (Jan 19) with at least 40,000 cases, exceeding Tuesday's 32,197.
Particularly notable amid the current spread of the Omicron variant is the rapid rise in infections among children under 10 years old, and the spread among family members.
