Hong Kong polls hit 30 per cent rate, non-establishment failed to get seats

HONG KONG (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): At least 1.3 million people turned up to vote in Hong Kong's Legislative Council (Legco) election on Sunday (Dec 19), the first such race under a "patriots-only" system.

A total of 153 candidates were fighting for 90 Legco seats in the geographical, functional and Election Committee constituencies.
