PRESIDENT Joko “Jokowi” Widodo says that “extraordinary measures” are required to address Indonesia’s long-running graft problems, calling on law enforcement institutions to prioritise prevention measures in a move to address the “fundamental” issues in the country’s anti-graft campaign.
In his speech to commemorate International Anti-Corruption Day on Thursday, Jokowi said methods to tackle corruption should continue to be improved, calling on law enforcement institutions to move away from high-profile arrests and sting operations, in favour of less-disruptive campaigns on corruption prevention measures.
