BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Dec 1 (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Brunei LNG is committed to be a sustainable and responsible energy partner to Brunei and the rest of Asean in the global journey towards energy transition by aiming to shift 10 per cent of its power generation source from fuel gas to renewable energy by 2025.

This was announced by Managing Director and CEO of Brunei LNG Farida Dato Seri Paduka Talib in her special remark at the annual Asean Business Awards 2021 held virtually on Tuesday (Nov 30).

In July this year, she shared that Brunei LNG achieves a feat of being the lead as the first carbon neutral LNG cargo supplier in the Southeast Asian region.

Farida also touched on the main opportunity in transformation through actively investing in building the right capability for the future through upskilling of local Bruneians to be digitally savvy, digitally literate and creating a highly skilled workforce ready for future employment.

She hoped that Asean entrepreneurs will play a vital role in creating and uncovering these opportunities by proving innovative solution and building the capacity to support the region and its larger enterprise partners in addressing the future challenges.

Recognising the ever-changing future landscape, she shared, ”Brunei LNG is embarking on a journey to take future sustainability challenges as an opportunity in transformation.

Brunei LNG’s investment and commitment in digitalisation is to simplify our processes across the value chain by working closely together with industry leaders.”

“In this journey, we are progressing to create a digital twin of our existing assets, enabling an interactive workplace version for learning, maintenance and emergency response.” - Borneo Bulletin
