Loan to build house in Indonesia helps pair win top prize in maid-employer award event

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): Vivian Sin and her family felt strongly that their maid of nearly six years, Mayasari, deserved a reward for her dedicated service.

So they lent her S$18,000 to buy land and build a two-bedroom house for Mayasari’s family back home in Semarang, Central Java.
