PHNOM PENH, Nov 21 (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): The Department of Culture and Fine Arts in Pursat province organised the second Khmer Culinary Arts Festival with this year’s festival focused on samlar kako with palm fruit (a traditional soup dish) and palm fruit cake desserts at the Koh Sampov Meas cultural borey to inspire the public to preserve Khmer culture and to show Khmer culture to tourists.

Pursat provincial culture and fine arts department director Lach Chengly said at the ceremony that the festival was intended to help contribute to the socio-economic development of the area and to encourage the public – especially young people – to understand and love the national culture and traditions so they would be inspired to help preserve them.
