Hanoi tightens measures as cases spike


Vietnam’s capital Hanoi is implementing drastic measures to counter the surge of locally transmitted Covid-19 cases, which have hit records in the past few days.

On Thursday, Hanoi’s health authority confirmed 277 new Covid-19 infections in 25 districts, including 114 cases detected in communities outside quarantine zones, the city’s highest daily number.
