After nearly 20 years of waiting, Hong Kong finally celebrated the opening of its first purpose-built visual art museum, the M+, with hundreds of visitors queuing up in the morning for a peek inside the multibillion-dollar complex in the heart of the new West Kowloon cultural hub.
While many visitors applauded the free entry, the facility’s aesthetic charms and the high quality of the exhibitions, a few complained that arrangements for admission were confusing, and that the facilities in and around the museum were not ready to handle the crowds.
