MANILA (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): President Rodrigo Duterte's daughter and political heir on Thursday (Nov 11) bolted from the powerful coalition she had led since 2019 in what could be a prelude to her own run for the presidency or vice-presidency under the wings of former president Gloria Arroyo.

In a handwritten note, Sara Duterte-Carpio (pic) said she was resigning as chairman of Hugpong ng Pagbabago (Caucus for Change).
