Disasters in Vietnam cause economic losses of 1-1.5 per cent of GDP annually


HANOI, Oct 15 (Bernama): Nearly 400 people have died or gone missing due to natural disasters in Vietnam alongside with economic losses of about 1-1.5 per cent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) each year over the past 30 years.

Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh said Vietnam is one of the countries most affected by climate change and often suffer from many types of natural disasters especially storms, floods, landslides, drought and saltwater intrusion.
