Brunei's Covid-19 cases still soaring as it records 263 new cases as tally reaches 5,960

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sept. 24 (Xinhua): Brunei reported 263 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, bringing the national tally to 5,960.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, all the new cases are local infections.

While the source of infection of 127 local cases is still under investigation, five new clusters have been detected and two clusters have been considered terminated following no new cases linked with them for 28 days. The total number of active clusters is now 103.

There are currently 1,898 active cases being treated and monitored at the National Isolation Centre, with seven of them in critical condition and 31 others under close monitoring.

There have been a total of 4,022 recovered patients and 40 deaths so far in the country.

The health ministry reminded the public once again not to leave their houses without any important purpose.

The public was advised to go out only when it is necessary, avoid going to crowded places, and visiting relatives and friends is not allowed. - Xinhua
