Online doc surprises many as Philippine VP wannabe


MANILA (Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network): A physician with a huge online following raised eyebrows even among his peers after confirming that he would be running mate to the latest presidential candidate, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.

Dr Willie Ong (pic), whose main advocacy is health system reforms, had never spoken publicly, until now, about the alleged misuse of government pandemic funds, or the slow pace of Covid-19 testing and vaccination, according to a doctor who requested anonymity.
