Royal Brunei staff to self-test for Covid before going on duty

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network): Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) has introduced the use of Covid-19 antigen rapid self-test kits for its flight crew, said the airline in a statement.

RB received 500 Covid-19 rapid test kits from the Ministry of Health.

The test kits, distributed to all RB flight crew, including pilots, cabin crew, flight engineers, and load sheeters, must be taken before reporting for duty, the company said.

Staff with positive rapid test results or those showing any flu symptoms will not report to work and will be required to undergo a Covid-19 PCR test.

RB Chief Executive Officer Captain Khalidkhan Asmakhan said, “The introduction of the mandatory rapid test before every flight is a testament to the commitment we have to the health and safety of our guests and employees.
