Covid-19 death toll rises to 17,016 in Myanmar with 72 more deaths


YANGON (Xinhua): The Covid-19 death toll has risen to 17,016 in Myanmar after 72 new deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, the country's Ministry of Health said on Saturday (Sept 18).

The ministry said that 1,943 Coivd-19 positive cases were newly reported, bringing the tally to 444,871 so far.

As of Saturday, a total of 395,855 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovery.

Myanmar detected its first two Covid-19 cases on March 23 last year.
