Philippines logs 20,741 new Covid-19 cases - its second highest on record as death toll now tops 34,000

MANILA, Sept. 4 (Xinhua/dpa): The Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) reported 20,741 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) infections on Saturday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the South-East Asian country to 2,061,084.

The number was the second highest ever recorded in its Covid-19 pandemic fight.
