US climate envoy John Kerry’s visit to China is expected to go beyond discussions about global warming, with Beijing making it clear it expects a broader discussion on the overall relations between the two countries.
Kerry held talks with vice-premier Han Zheng on Thursday morning and will meet this evening with State Councillor Yang Jiechi – China’s most senior diplomat – via videoconference, according to a source familiar with the arrangements who requested anonymity.
