A fund which has spent more than HK$243 million supporting anti-government protesters facing criminal prosecution or financial hardship as a result of the civil unrest two years ago is to close, it said on Wednesday.
But the 612 Humanitarian Relief Fund denied its bank account, which was provided by the Alliance for True Democracy Limited for the purpose of collecting donations, had been frozen, and said it would be gradually winding down operations after the alliance said it was folding.
