MANILA, Aug. 1 (Xinhua): The Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) reported on Sunday 8,735 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) infections, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the South-East Asian country to 1,597,689.
The death toll climbed to 28,016 after 127 more patients died from the viral disease, the DOH added.
