Foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia drop by 10% year-on-year in June; inflation on the rise

JAKARTA, Aug 2 (Bernama): Foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia were recorded at 140,850, dropping by 10.04 per cent in June compared to the same month of last year, the Central Agency of Statistics' head Margo Yuwono said on Monday.

The foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia have yet to show any significant improvement compared to 2020 and 2019, due to the current lingering Covid-19 pandemic and other countries’ travel bans to the Southeast Asian nation, Xinhua reported, quoting Yuwono telling a virtual press conference.
