Coronavirus wave hits Myanmar months after coup as cases are hitting record numbers

YANGON, JUly 11 (dpa): Five months after the military coup in Myanmar, the crisis-stricken country is battling its worst wave of the coronavirus so far.

The number of Covid-19 cases rose to 188,752 after 4,377 new infections were reported in Myanmar in the past 24 hours, according to a release from the Ministry of Health and Sports on Saturday night (July 10).
