BEIJING: Antibodies against the novel coronavirus can last for at least 12 months in more than 70% of recovered Covid-19 patients, a study published by Chinese researchers showed.
The finding released on Tuesday added to growing evidence that vaccination, which elicits an immune response in a way similar to how a live virus triggers human bodies to generate antibodies, could “effectively restrict the spread of SARS-CoV-2”, the study said. The study, published online by Nature Communications, was conducted by China National Biotech Group, a Sinopharm subsidiary, and the National Research Centre for Translational Medicine at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
