Widen knowledge, exchange experiences, Brunei youth told

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): The informative community programme aims to raise knowledge and provides updated developments on the government’s efforts to increasing the standard of living of the citizens and residents in the country, said Information Department acting director Shahrul Jeffri Ibrahim, who is the advisor to the informative community programme.

He said the programme is also hoped to instill inspiration among members of the community by providing knowledge and information.

He said this during the opening ceremony of the first informative community programme 2021 for mosque youth in Brunei-Muara District at the auditorium hall of the extension building, Information Department on Tuesday (June 22).

The informative community programme is a platform under the Information Department to deliver official information on the policies and intent of the government for the community to understand, support and appreciate.

Shahrul Jeffri said, “The Information Department will always work hard to improve programmes and activities toward information sharing.”

The youth, he added, “Is a large group in our country and they are the ones who will become the next generation of our nation’s heritage. The informative community programme is especially organised for the mosque youth in Brunei-Muara District.”

He urged participants to make full use of the opportunity to widen their knowledge and exchange opinions as well as experience through the briefings and visits to the public and private sectors.

The Information Department, he said, “Will always work hard in sharing accurate and authentic information including government initiatives and developments achieved in private and public sectors to each layer of the community through the programme and cooperation of strategic partners.”

The two-day programme includes a series of briefings on WAWASAN 2035, One Village One Product (1K1P), the nationhood briefing programme, Cybercrime, Narcotics Control Bureau, approach in writing Curriculum Vitae and attending interviews as well as discussions on agriculture and entrepreneurship. - Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network
