China vaccine doses to Asean top 120 million, 4.8 times UN programme

BEIJING (The Jakarta Post/ANN): China has supplied or plans to supply 120 million coronavirus vaccine doses to Asean members, around 4.8 times the number allocated for the region by the United States and European countries through the UN-backed Covax global vaccine-sharing programme, a Kyodo News tally showed Sunday (June 20).

The numbers were compiled Friday by Kyodo News based on data from Gavi, an alliance of governments, international organisations, companies and charities that promote the Covax programme in cooperation with the World Health Organization, as well as from Association of Southeast Asian Nations governments.
