PHNOM PENH, June 21 (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): The Ministry of Health on Jonday reported another 735 Covid-19 cases, all but 27 of which were linked to the February 20 community outbreak.

The ministry also reported 10 new deaths and 514 recoveries.

As of June 21, Cambodia had recorded a total of 43, 446 Covid-19 cases with 38, 003 recoveries and 441 fatalities.

The South-East Asian nation launched a Covid-19 vaccination drive on Feb. 10.

To date, some 3.31 million out of the 10 million targeted adult population have received their first vaccine dose, MoH's secretary of state and spokeswoman Or Vandine said, adding that 2.7 million of them have been fully vaccinated with two doses.

Meanhwile, at least four people died in Mesar Brachan commune's Yot village of Prey Veng province’s Pea Reang district on June 19, with wine poisoning the likely cause of deaths, according to the local authorities.

District police chief Long Bunthoeun told The Post on June 21 that of the four victims, aged 31 to 54, three died at home while the fourth died after arriving at the hospital.

“We cannot confirm the cause of their deaths now. But we suspect that it was caused by wine poisoning because all of the victims had drunk herbal wine,” Bunthoeun said. - Phnom Penh Post/ANN
